For automated compounding operations, the Dry Cut System with horizontal cooling slide is highly preferred. The surface water on the strands is removed by a combination of air pressure and vacuum along with a tempering zone before being pelletized. That process equalizes the temperature across the strands cross-section and imbeds the fibres in the polymers. During the cutting action, the fibres will not be pulled out or disturbed from their location. The throughput will vary depending on material parameters and number of strands up to 7300 kg/hr.
